Homage to J.H. Prynne, new scolder of naïve, deceived poets (mainly American ones, like Charles Olson), who fall prey, in his words, to “crackpot” and “blarney” philosophies. And so we honor Comrade Prynne, here at Dispatches, he who recently made solemn pilgrimage, as he recounts in his new Paris Review interview, “to the Maoist birthplace as an act of pious recognition.”

Long live contradiction.
